About This Tour

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes in south-western Uganda, sharing its borders with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is home to the Nyakagezi gorilla family — one of Uganda's most reliably encountered habituated groups — and receives far fewer visitors than Bwindi, giving the experience a genuinely remote and wild character. The volcanic landscape adds a dramatic backdrop to the trek, with the peaks of Muhavura, Gahinga, and Sabinyo rising above the forest. The park is also home to the endangered golden monkey, and a golden monkey tracking experience can be added to your itinerary. This 3-day package combines the gorilla trek with a golden monkey tracking session.
