About This Tour

The Gorilla Habituation Experience (GHEX) is the most immersive gorilla encounter available anywhere in the world. While standard trekking gives you one hour with a fully habituated family, GHEX allows a maximum of four visitors per day to join the research team working with a semi-habituated family — spending four full hours observing natural gorilla behaviour at close range. You trek alongside trackers and researchers, witnessing feeding, play, social bonding, and the complex dynamics of gorilla family life in a way that a one-hour visit simply cannot reveal. Only Rushaga sector in Bwindi offers GHEX, and permits are limited to four per day. This package includes the GHEX permit, two nights accommodation, and all logistics.
