Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park lies in the southwestern corner of Uganda close to the boarders of Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

You drive through Masaka- Mbarara encountering many banana plantations for 7 to 8 hours onto kabale then Kisoro town .

From kabale town depending on your gorilla permit you either drive to southern /Eastern or northern sector of Bwindi for Gorilla Tracking.

Bwindi can be reached from Queen Elizabeth National Park to the north sector of Bwindi (2-3 hours), from Kabale to the south 2 hours or from Kampala via Mbarara 8-9 hours. The roads meet at Butogota, 17km from the Buhoma entrance gate. A 4WD vehicle is necessary during the rainy season.

There is a daily bus From Kampala to Butogota via Rukungiri and Kihiihi and you can hire car from Butogota to the park entrance gate at Buhoma.

Also there is a daily bus service leaving Kampala for Kisoro via Kabale and takes 7 to 8 hours drive. a car hire can be arranged from Kisoro to the park entrance gate at either Rushaga or Nkuringo or Ruhija
